Inclusive Education
DDRC works towards providing inclusive education for children with disabilities, promoting education policies and practices that support inclusion and equity, and advocating for the rights of children with disabilities. We also focus on creating opportunities for people with disabilities through education, employment, and entrepreneurship and focus on promoting inclusion and independence for people with disabilities, including through education and vocational training. DDRC works towards protecting the rights of people with disabilities around the world, including advocating for inclusive education and accessible learning environments. Our organization works towards promoting inclusive education and improving the quality of education for children with disabilities in community areas of the parsa district.
We recently completed the project "Empowering a New Generation of Adolescent Girls with Education (ENGAGE)." The initiative is being spearheaded by VSO Nepal, with assistance from the Divya Development Resource Centre (DDRC) in the working regions of Jagarnathpur and Dhobini RM. The project was also focus to sustain CRM in schools. Through this project, we have supported children with disabilities age from 10 to 19. We have provided assistive devices to children with disabilities, making their daily life easier. We have also provided educational support to children with disabilities, and they are currently performing well in school. We also gave seed money to 700 marginalized children and children with disability to help them with their education development. The project's major goal was to continue the education of out-of-school girls and to assist children with disabilities. The project's major theme was inclusive education and disability. Throughout the project intervention, we pushed for the preservation of an inclusive atmosphere in schools and society. During the project intervention, 10 learning hubs were established in working areas. On a regular basis, 700 students study in those learning hubs to improve their education capacity. We have done many works in the field of inclusive education and disability under this project. In order to prepare an inclusive environment in 10 schools in Jagarnathpur and Dhobini Rural Municipality, we have constructed hand washing facilities, repaired toilets in the schools and distributed necessary educational materials. As a result of which an inclusive environment was created in the school as well as the educational quality was also improved. Under this project, we made well manage toilet for 8 severe children with disabilities. As a result, the daily life of children with disabilities has become easier. With the help of the project, physiotherapists have been mobilized to provide therapy to the children with severe and profound disability, and they have started to school by them self.
