Organizational Background
Divya Development Resource Centre(DDRC),(Divya Yuva Club is amended and changed to Divya Development Resource Centre dated on 2079-12-08 BS) Parsa is a non-profitable, nongovernmental organization established in 2050 B.S. in Kalimai Rural Municipality Ward No. 5, Biranchibarwa, Parsa, Nepal (Previously VDC Biranchibarwa).
DDRC Parsa about 18 KM west of Birgunj, has set its Vision “A healthy society of men, women and children where (Justice) opportunities are (Equitably) shared which sustains positive change and dignity for all.” In order to reach this destination, it has its mission- to facilitate a process of participatory development approach, which empowers men and women, to attain all the rights with special attention to marginalized groups, to guarantee the dignity of all.
DDRC has its mandate to work in initiating development initiatives in the communities. Saving and credit is one of the major scope to empower the marginalized communities through: i) empowering targeted groups for economically self-dependent, socially & politically sensitized and increase the rights of women and girl children to address their barriers as created by a century long patriarchy ii) promoting the practice of a women’s savings and entrepreneurship by making the provision of cooperative organization, income generation loans etc. iii) developing business related skills and support the targeted groups particular the women’s in income generating programs iv) develop capacity of the communities to manage resources efficiently and v) identify problems in the community and provide agreed solutions.
DDRC works to all population. However, the prioritized targeted groups are the youth, women, school children, HIV positive people, migrant labor, people with disabilities, single women, pregnant women, poor and marginalized people, child clubs, youth clubs, community-based women’s groups, and other vulnerable groups living in the marginalized communities and DDRC is guided the principle of rights-based approach to program design and implementation. Being a leading organization in Madhesh Pradesh in the field of protection, and it has its working experiences in this field more than 28 years.
Additionally, gender, protection and safeguarding, disability and inclusion, social accountability for social norms transformation, respecting diversity, cultural sensitivity, breaking the culture of silence against social injustice etc. are some of the programmatic approach DDRC has been working with. DDRC has also followed the principle of do no harm and zero tolerance policy against fraud and sexual abuse. DDRC has various experienced as well as skilled human resources.
So that we can complete the objective of the project within time period. Our major strengths are team work, in any activity, we divide the responsibilities in team and discuss related issues in detail and after that move to work. Our another strength is our policies and procedures and it’s also provide us with more support for our activities implementation with sustainability and accountability.
Divya Development Resource Centre(DDRC) has various policies with the guidance of which we can work in a procedural manner. The strong point of this organization is the ability of the team with the organization to respond at project implementation. Divya Development Resource Centre (DDRC) has long experience in disability and inclusive education. Currently, DDRC has benefited to more than 2000 marginalized children, women and person with disability in 6 palika of Parsa district.
That is why the education of marginalized and children with disability has been continue. Girls have been earning good income by doing income generation activities and an inclusive environment has been improving in the school and community level. Divya Development Resource Centre(DDRC) has also a lot of experience related to counselling services & GBV, GESI and disaster management due to which it has been able to achieve the objectives of the project by mobilizing the related expertise in such activities required by any project.
