Safer Migration

We have well experience on safer migration areas. Since 4 years, our organization has been successfully implementing this “Safer Migration Project” in Birganj Metropolitan City of Parsa District by the support of Birgunj Metropolitan City and Helvetas Nepal. Under this project, activities are being conducted to increase the access of other stakeholders to information related to foreign employment in order to make foreign employment safe, dignified and organized.

Similarly, it is also working to advocate justice for young people who are willing to go for foreign employment, workers who have returned from abroad and other stakeholders who have suffered fraud and injustice. It is also coordinating and cooperating for the training of young people who want to go for foreign employment, workers who have returned from abroad. Psychosocial counseling services are being provided to the family members who have gone for foreign employment when needed, and financial literacy classes are also being conducted for the family members who have gone for foreign employment. As a result, families who have gone for foreign employment have been helped in financial management.

Key achievement of this project, access to information related to this project foreign employment has reached 41375 people. Similarly, it has succeeded in recommending 770 people for free vocational training. It has succeeded in making their lives easier by providing psychosocial counseling to 180 youths who have returned from foreign employment and their family members. Meanwhile, 79 young people who went for foreign employment, who were wronged or died during foreign employment, have been facilitated and provided necessary compensation to ensure their rights.

644 classes related to financial literacy have been successfully conducted at the community level. The Municipal Level Migrant Rights Network has been formed and is being mobilized to protect the rights of people who have gone to work abroad. Meanwhile, MRC office is kept in the district administration office, Parsa and regular counseling is also given to the people who are interested in foreign employment. Due to which foreign employment is becoming safer day by day.
